Cattle Market Report for 21 July

Despite the constant wet weather 350 cattle were yarded and sold at the Lismore Saleyards Tuesday 21Jul26.

Cows sold very well. Most were of secondary quality and sold from $3.40 - $3.68/kg.

Rick Grainger’s Angus cow topped the day at $3.68/kg, $2,503.

Most of the old cows in plain condition sold from $2.50 - $3.10/kg.

Good quality weaner steers sold well but not at the highs of the last sale a fortnight ago, $5 - $5.50/kg.

Secondary steers $4 - $4.80/kg.

Well-bred heifers, popular with restockers, sold from $4.20 - $5/kg.

Secondary heifers $3.50 - $4.20/kg and a few $2.50 - $3/kg.
