Cattle Market Report

320 cattle were sold at the Ian Weir and Son Lismore Sale Yards on Tuesday 18 August 26.

Meatworks cows sold at good rates, on par with recent sales.

Again, this week most were secondary quality and sold from $3.20 - $3.50/kg.

Plain cows $2.60 - $3.10/kg.

Weaners sold to Southern and Western restockers at much improved rates when compared to last sale a fortnight ago.

Good quality steers, regardless of weight sold from $4.80 - $5.50/kg.

Secondary lines and bull calves $4.20 - $5.10/kg.

Good Euro and British heifers from $3.90 - $4.60/kg.

Secondary heifers from $3.40 - $4/kg.
